Stories CKS

Marijke - Wholesale manager

What is the biggest challenge about your job?Dealing with external factors like covid, late deliveries, stock shortages etc. The challenge lies in always finding the best solution for both our customer and CKS.

How does your department contribute to the functioning of CKS?
We make sure that CKS is also sold in multibrand stores in Belgium and abroad.

What does a typical workday look like for you?
That depends very much on the period of the year. During the pre-sales our working days are completely dedicated to the collection sales and we receive customers in the showroom every day. During the rest of the year, we try to visit our customers regularly and generally offer them the best possible service.

What achievement are you most proud of?
The complete restart of our business after the takeover by CRG. What I remember most about that, is the great involvement and loyalty of our customers. That was very heartwarming and gave an extra boost in those difficult times.

What is your favorite event at CKS?
Our participation in fashion fairs. There is always a tremendously fun and energetic vibe between the participants and the visitors.

How is it to work with the colleagues within your department and across CKS?
We work in a limited team at headquarters. That makes it possible to get quick answers from your colleague or supervisor. It also keeps you well informed of the goings on in other departments.

What is your favorite day of the year at CKS?
The collection presentations. They serve as a kind of kick off for a new season. All colleagues and foreign agents get a presentation of the new collection. That ensures extra involvement but also interesting feedback.

How important is fashion in your life?
Fashion obviously plays a big role in my life. But I am not a trend watcher. I mainly try to stay informed about new brands or certain items that sell well with customers. This is very important information for us to incorporate in future collections.

How has your job evolved over the years?
I started as a salesperson on the store floor at a denim brand. There I got the opportunity to become a customer service assistant for wholesale customers. 5 years ago I started as an account manager at CKS and for the last year I have had the opportunity to become a wholesale manager.

How would you describe the atmosphere at CKS?
We work very hard but because of our passion for CKS we always do this with a big smile. There is a warm family feeling here.

To conclude, complete with 1 word: working at CKS is ... HAPPY VIBES!
